Project Delivery Role in ISS
Project Delivery roles in ISS provide highly demanding opportunities to work within the various projects that the organisation is tasked with delivering to its end users in our Armed Forces and across the wider department. ISS is currently responsible for a portfolio of nearly 200 projects and programmes ranging from short term, fast paced and sometimes complex projects that support current military operations through to large scale programmes that can take many years to complete such as provision of future military satellite capabilities. The 400+ civilian and military Project Management Professionals who work in ISS, undertake some of the most challenging projects and programmes to be found anywhere across government. Working in ISS will provide significant challenges to individuals both in terms of developing their technical competences as project professionals but also their leadership and management skills in a high tempo 3* organisation that operates at the cutting edge of what is technologically possible in the civilian and military ICT space.
As a Project Manager in ISS, you will work in project management across different stages of the project lifecycle from inception through to in-service and termination, contribute to the delivery of projects to a variety of different end users with differing needs and be exposed to and make use of the wide variety of tools and techniques used by MOD to deliver ICT services to the end user. Successful candidates are likely to be responsible for delivering components of larger projects or programmes or be responsible for supporting or delivering small to medium size projects.
To do this, successful candidates must demonstrate good knowledge and experience of common project processes, methods, techniques and tools that are used when undertaking tasking to ensure effective and efficient project delivery. The individual must be able to demonstrate a successful track record in supporting the delivery of complex projects.

About the Job
The Strategic Services team in ISS Networks manages a number of radio and terrestrial networks to support military operations globally. This post is to manage the acquisition of new and follow on strategic radio terminals. This will involve working with users, industry and functional SMEs in order to direct the development, procurement, introduction to service and support of these new capabilities.
About the location
MOD Corsham is a modern office facility just a short distance from the M4 J17 at Chippenham and within easy commuting distance of Bristol, Bath, Gloucester and Swindon. The site benefits from ease of parking, restaurant, cafeteria and fitness facilities (the latter subject to membership).
Dependent on the â€˜taskingâ€™ and business need, there may be a requirement to travel to meetings within the UK (or potentially involve occasional overseas visits)
ISS operates an organisation model in which every individual belongs to a function. The successful applicant will be posted into one of the defined Professional Functions on Standard Terms of Reference for the grade.
The Head of Function for each Professional Group determines the Continuous Professional Development path for their function as well as approving opportunities across ISS for agile resourcing
