919-AK-19304821-EXT - Business Support Officer
Public Health England will provide strategic leadership and vision for protecting and improving the nation’s health. Our ambition is to lead nationally and enable locally a transformation in the health expectations of all people in England regardless of where they live and the circumstance of their birth. We will achieve this through the application of research, knowledge and skills. Public Health England is an executive agency of the Department of Health, a distinct delivery organisation with operational autonomy to advise and support Government, local authorities and the NHS in a professionally independent manner.
Here at Public Health England we are on a journey of transformation – transforming our people, our behaviours and the way we do things, transforming our relationships both internally and with partner organisations, transforming our leadership, and transforming systems, process and structures – towards achieving our ambition to be a high performing organisation. We have made significant progress and we now want to take this to the next level
We are now seeking to appoint a Business Support Officer who will have experience in providing and managing a variety of support functions. This is a senior administrative role so the post holder will need to demonstrate that they are able to work autonomously taking forward projects and priorities with limited supervision. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and conscientious with the ability to juggle and prioritise conflicting demands. Will also be factored into the Health Protection Acute Response Centre rota and offer resilience when required.
To succeed in this role candidates will be adept at managing their own workload. The successful individual will join a dedicated and committed team with a varied remit. The post will be based in Public Health England offices in Totnes. However, regardless of the contractual base successful candidate will be expected to travel within the South West area and nationally as required.
Applicants should review the job description for the post prior to completing their application. When completing their application form candidates should demonstrate how they meet the essential requirements of the role.
Interviews will be scheduled for 26th April 2019
Please note we will be longlisting for this post.
The successful candidates will be appointed to Civil Service terms and conditions.
PHE employees who are at risk or in the redeployment pool are given prior consideration for any suitable alternative employment.
Public Health England promotes diversity in the workplace and is an equal opportunities employer.
Option 3 – External
Open to all external applicants (anyone) from outside the Civil Service (including by definition internal applicants).
