Security Service Groups (SSG) assists the MoD and the wider Government Estate in meeting its security requirements.

This vacancy is for the role of Maintenance Manager South East Region. This is an exciting, interesting and challenging role within Government Security. You will work in high profile and technically complex Defence sites, Other Government Departments and Critical National Infrastructure security programs.
Maintenance Managers will be tasked from SSGās offices in Woolwich and be responsible for planned maintenance and remedial works; predominantly in London and across the South East of England. You will liaise with MOD clients, commercial companies and SSG Operations Project Managers. In addition, you will also be involved in the deployment of Security System Technicians within the region.
The successful candidate will be required to engage with staff, customers and suppliers, at all levels. You must therefore have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be able to operate in a collaborative working environment and have high literacy and numeracy levels. In addition, successful candidates will be able to manage a dynamic work programme in response to changing SSGās priorities.
Successful applicants will be provided with a company vehicle with the choice of a vehicle with private use which will be eligible for taxable benefit, or a van for business use which will be tax exempt. You will be included on the roster for āout of hoursā calls for which you will receive a on call allowance (including recall to duty allowance when called out), opportunities for overtime, detached duty visits (overnight stays) and travelling time depending on business needs.
ā¢ Provide customer interface and represent SSG at high level external meetings.
ā¢ Undertake complex discussions and negotiations with SSGās Project Managers and Client Security Officers for Key Project and Maintenance accounts
ā¢ Line Manage the dedicated āin-houseā Skill Zones and sub-contractors to deliver project and maintenance contracts to time, quality and cost.
ā¢ Provide full financial management: Estimating, Job costing, invoicing and budget management.
ā¢ Providing clear and precise financial breakdown reports to SSG Regional Team Leader
ā¢ Be able to interpret and develop SSG Operations and external client requirements, working to support the team to deliver functional solutions.
ā¢ Working knowledge of British, European and Government Standards relating to security together with knowledge of Quality Assurance and Health & Safety policies.
SSGāS regional office is based in Woolwich. Work is predominately at SSG Customerās sites in London and the South East geographic region. The post holder may be required to provide support to other SSG regions as necessary and therefore have periods of detached duty in the UK and possibly overseas.
Daily travel time payments are made if journeys meet certain criteria.

SSG is a business unit of the MOD with over 200 staff located throughout the UK and overseas responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of security systems across the MOD and government estate.
Working within SSGās Operations Team you will be part of a dedicated group of MOD Security Engineers providing key specialist installation and maintenance services, delivering MODās highest level of electronic security systems to protect the Nationās assets.
