We are currently looking to recruit Grade 5 Digital Field Officer to join our Digital Forensics Team in either Bristol, London, Warrington or Tamworth.

The role holder will work on a variety of highend cases including OCG investigations, complex fraud and corruption, child exploitation and cyber-crime.

To be successful in this role you will be able to work both within an ISO-accredited laboratory environment and at scene to extract, process and analyse data stored within digital devices.

You will be capable of advising Senior Investigating Officers on digital forensic strategy. You must also be able to travel within the UK and abroad to represent the NCA.

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Provide a specialist capability to extract, process and analyse data from a wide range of digital devices (computers, phones, servers, etc.) and Operating Systems (Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, iOS, Android, etc.).
• Attend scenes to provide specialist advice and conduct on-site examinations and data recovery where necessary.
• Conduct digital forensic examinations in accordance with relevant legislation, best practice guidance, international accreditation standards and NCA policies.
• Ensure the integrity and continuity of items by following the correct handling, storage and documentation requirements.
• Build working relationships with internal and external partners and industry to support and enhance technical capability.

You may be expected to work directly or indirectly in tackling child sexual exploitation and abuse.

This may involve exposure to child sexual abuse material. You should consider the sensitive nature of the work before deciding to apply.

All officers working on or supporting this type of operational activity will undergo a psychological assessment on taking up the role and at regular intervals once in post.

To be considered, you will need to be able to successfully complete SC Enhanced clearance upon entry.

You may also be required to undertake a mandatory pre-employment substance misuse test and achieve a satisfactory result.

Experience Criteria

You will be required to supply evidence of:

• Proven experience in conducting digital forensic examinations within a laboratory environment and/or at scene.
• Experience working to tight deadlines and work prioritisation in a dynamic environment.
• Experience applying interpersonal skills (to include written and verbal communication) within your professional work.
