Due to company expansion they are seeking an organised Purchasing Manager with excellent Far East experience to join their growing team. You will ideally have experience within the gift or homewares industry but a fashion or related background may also be considered.
A typical day in this exciting Purchasing Manager role may involve:
- Involvement with Product Development at concept stages
- Maximising profit margin through effective worldwide sourcing
- Visiting suitable factories and trade shows in the Far East
- Managing the relationship with existing factories and sourcing new opportunities
- Negotiating and managing supplier service level agreements
- Cost negotiation and working with product development teams to meet margin targets
- Sample management
- Raising and uploading purchase orders to demand plan
- Stock forecasting
- Managing the critical path and regularly liaising with product development and warehouse on progress
- Preparing shipping documents including invoices bill of lading and Certificates of Origin
- Ensuring shipments are delivered on time and in full to the UK warehouse
As Purchasing Manager you will have:
- 5+ years Far East purchasing experience ideally as a Supply Chain Coordinator / Manager
- Good language skills ideally you will be fluent in Mandarin
- Experience within the gift or homewares industry is essential
- Excellent attention to detail and be able to multi-task
- Impeccable organisation skills
- Excellent knowledge of Excel
